The best stuff I've ever done

Here's an overview of the various projects I've worked on for different companies. Each article, social media post, product description, video, or marketing campaign displays a skill of mine. The projects you see highlight my successes—and my failures—because I consider everything I do a learning experience.

Like Liam Neeson, I have a "particular set of skills," and the scariest part is that I know how to use them.

Building a team from the ground up? Check. Establishing a copywriting and feedback process in less than a month? Check. Redefining how a dynamic copy function can add value to a marketing team? That’s the fun part.

In a sense, I helped build the first point of contact travelers have with 20+ brands of hotels. With responsibilities ranging from writing property descriptions and promotional emails to developing brand identities and creative campaigns, I served as a ‘jack of all trades’ on the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts digital team. Throw in a little content management and customer service, and no two days were ever the same.

Website copy, blog posts, email blasts, drip campaigns, pitch decks, you name it. As a Copywriter at MarketSmiths, I got to do it all. From discovery to execution, I helped develop sharp content strategy and incorporate it into the finished product.

As a Project Coordinator at NGA Group, I produced content and managed ongoing marketing campaigns for our flagship portal: Movers.com. I also worked on content for our less successful Canadian sister-site, TopMoving.ca, as well as several other websites our team prepared for launch.

This included a canvas printing business, a law firm search tool, and an alarm company engine—eclectic, I know.

As a Copywriter and Social Media Strategist at Forever Collectibles, I combined my writing prowess with my innate interpersonal skills to grow and connect with the FoCo community. I achieved this through social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, as well as B2B marketing initiatives such as catalog creation and trade magazine advertising.

During my tenure at Forever Collectibles, I represented the brand at a number of university career fairs. I ventured to local schools like Rutgers and Monmouth University, as well as regional universities like Syracuse and Penn State, to attract young talent to our rapidly expanding company. Not only did I enjoy this portion of my job—I was good at it. I appreciated and embraced the opportunity for me to develop the Forever Collectibles brand in more ways than one.

As a Copywriter at Costume SuperCenter, I had the privilege of embracing my Halloween spirit for an entire spring and summer. I used my boundless imagination to create descriptions for a wide range of products, including costumes, props, accessories, and party supplies. Though the process grew monotonous at times, I was able to hone my craft during my time there.

After Costume SuperCenter got involved with the House of Cupcakes, I expanded my repertoire to cupcakes and desserts. I also received free cupcakes on occasion. (Come on, you can't expect people to write about cupcakes all day and then not want to eat some.)
